Our personal brands will either help us gain the right opportunities
Attract the right people
Or our personal brands will cause us to miss out on the right opportunities and attracting the right people
This is all based on how we communicate our value
But before we can communicate our value we must first
Be clear about what we want to be known for.
Because you can’t build a Personal brand with actions that contradict each other
- Being one thing on social media yet a completely different person in real life
- Grabbing every opportunity just to be seen even when these opportunities don’t align with your values
- Copying other people’s brands
- Using your influence to discredit others as a means to ‘beat the competition”
The minute you start sending social cues, whether consciously or unconsciously, about what you do or represent, people will start forming opinions about you.
Whatever you put on display will become an example and reflection of who you are.
Be mindful and intentional about the messages you send about who you are, what you stand for, what you are interested in, what you are passionate about and what value you offer.
When it comes to your personal brand, you can and must control the narrative.
Remember, your story is powerful.
The unique qualities, the lived experiences, the lessons, the triumphs, the ah ah moments, the surprises, the unexpected events, the whirlwind moments, the failures, the wins, the belly laughter moments, the milestones, the days of just sitting and doing nothing
All of it!
The aim of your personal brand is not to falsely impress others
But rather to convey your value and expertise to increase visibility and attract the right people and opportunities.
I’m rooting for you!
